Low Fat, High Protein Diet – Why This is Just the Opposite of What to Do to Burn Fat Fast

The problem with so many fad diets like a low fat high protein diet is that many times, they are based on hype alone. Also, while humans are all basically the same, there are a ton of ways in which we differ from one another. Many fad diets will have great testimonials from people who achieved incredible results. Inspired by these results, others try the same fad diet and are crushed when it doesn’t work for them.

As I said, we are all different and whats good for one person will not be good for another. Which leads us to the low fat high protein diet. While high protein diets in general are decent for getting short term results, they are never a very effective plan to achieve lasting and permanent weight loss. Furthermore, a diet that includes 15%-20% of healthy fats actually makes it easier for people to lose weight.

Yes, you read that right, fats can and will help you lose weight. People are still caught up in the “fats are bad” craze despite years of research stating otherwise. Because of this “fats are bad” craze, American obesity rates have skyrocketed, more than doubling in the last 20 years. Healthy fats, such as those found in nuts, avocados, olive oil and the like.

Obviously, a low fat high protein diet robs you of getting any healthy fats in your diet. But healthy fats are good because they slow down your digestion. By slowing digestion, you not only feel more full and satisfied after eating, but it also allows your body to absorb more nutrients, vitamins and minerals from your meal. Without fats, you have less energy, you don’t get as much out of meals, and you become hungrier more quickly.

A low fat high protein diet [] might seem like a good idea on the surface. We all equate “fat” with “bad” and in this light, it only makes sense. But you must dis spell this myth from your mind! Not only are certain fats good and healthy for you, but they can and do help people lose weight more quickly if they’re included in a proper fitness routine.
